Table & Main Provides A Quality Dining Experience

By Elisha Neubauer

Ryan Pernice always knew he wanted to open a restaurant. He just never thought he would choose to do so in his own home town of Roswell, Georgia.

Pernice was originally inspired to open Table & Main while attending college in Ithaca, New York. For Pernice, driving through the countryside while listening to his favorite band was transcendental. It was so stimulating that he even utilized a handful of lyrics from his favorite song in his business plan.

The song, entitled "The Weight" by The Band, told the story of a weary traveler who wants to find a safe place to lay his head. Pernice knew that he wanted to be able to provide a place where people could eat, drink, and be merry while forgetting their woes and leaving their troubles at the door.

"That's what Table & Main is: a place for our guests to surrender their troubles to the care and attention of the restaurant," Pernice said. "With that as our inspiration, we've been serving our friends and neighbors as Roswell's clubhouse for six years."

Every ounce of the restaurant's concept is centered in creating the ambiance of dining at a friend's house. The building in which Table & Main calls home was originally built in 1910 as a homestead, and Pernice looked to maintain many of the home's original features in an effort to preserve the cozy feel the space portrayed.

"Examples include repurposing the original siding as wainscoting and floor supports as tables and the bar," Pernice said. "We were lucky enough to meet one of the first inhabitants who gifted us a shoebox of old photos of the space's former life. Those photos now hang in our bar to honor the family that lived here before."

In addition to offering a delicious menu, the Table & Main presents a beautiful space for events. As the building exudes a personalized feel, it creates a safe and energetic place for intimate gatherings.

"It sounds silly, but this space witnessed real peoples' joys long before we were part of it," Pernice said. "There's already the spirit of remembrance here."

The restaurant's hours make celebrating a private experience. As the eatery isn't open for lunch, special event guests have the pleasure of a private setting, allowing them to move about the space and celebrate without interference. Perhaps the best part of utilizing Table & Main for any event gathering is that you get restaurant service at an event, which means you get restaurant-quality attention to detail.

"That means your event will be cooked for and staffed by our restaurant professionals who have been on our team for years and know our menu and hospitality inside and out," Pernice said.
