Sweet Hut Bakery & Café: Asian Inspired, American Crafted

By Elisha Neubauer

Whether you're craving something sweet or just looking for a unique place to kill some time, Sweet Hut Bakery & Café may just be the right place for you. With its delicious goodies, warm atmosphere, and free WiFi, you just can't go wrong when you stop in at Sweet Hut Bakery & Café.

Howie Ewe, founder and executive chef for Sweet Hut Bakery & Café, based his distinctive concept on his Chinese/Asian culinary experiences, in order to give the Atlanta, Georgia area a taste of the popular Asian industry. "Asia and Europe have bakeries almost every block on the street and we used to sell bread on the streets when we were young at Malaysia," says Rachel Ewe, Owner. "We want to bring that experience to the States. For us, Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe is not just an ordinary bakery and cafe. It's a social environment for students, kids, and adults."

Ewe explains that people can come to Sweet Hut and learn about the bakeries located in Asia, while picking up a delicious pastry and hanging out with family and/or friends, making it a different experience from chain bakeries and coffee shops.

One of the differentiating factors is the eatery's savory options. Unlike most US bakeries, they don't just focus on the sweeter side of treats. Following Asian tradition, they've added an extensive savory selection to the menu, ensuring something for everyone.

"Our most popular savory option is Pork Sung bun," Ewe affirms. There are over 100 bakery options on the Sweet Hut menu, as well as over 70 drink options, including their signature bubble teas and drinks. The café makes everything from slushies and frappes to a variety of coffees.

In addition to their in-store offers, Sweet Hut Bakery & Café also offers full menu catering. Pastry platters, lunch boxes, sandwich platters, salads, snacks, desserts, and beverages are all available for off-site catering.

Special event cakes are also available, including custom designs and wedding cakes. While they do require a minimum of 36 hours notice for custom cakes, they are capable of incredible feats when it comes to the quality and detail of the designs, ensuring your product will be the talk of your event.

Currently you can snag a pastry or bubble tea from Sweet Hut Bakery & Café in three convenient locations: Doraville, Atlanta, and Duluth. All are easy to get to and open from 8am-12am Sunday through Thursday and 8am-1am Friday and Saturday. With its comfortable seating, warm and welcoming atmosphere, delicious snacks and beverages, and free WiFi, there's no need to go anywhere else.
