Rreal Tacos Serves Up Handmade, No Nonsense Varieties to Hungry Patrons of Atlanta

By Elisha Neubauer

When it comes to food, Adrian Villarreal loves it all -- Latin, European, Asian, you name it, he eats it. But, when it came down to picking a specific concept for his own restaurant, Villarreal leaned a little more on what the community needed the most...which just happened to be a no-frills, hole in the wall taco joint.

And that's exactly what he created.

Rreal Tacos focuses on that no-frills concept, giving customers a straightforward, authentic meal at a no-muss cost. These tacos are driven by a big commitment for fresh, all natural, sustainable, and local ingredients with a simple, yet motivated effort level.

"I do believe it's not extremely hard to find authentic Mexican tacos or to find Mexican food with higher end products but I do think that both together are a rare find," states Villarreal. "Tacos are a great food item. Simple, yet not easy to do great."

When it comes to their menu, they have a focus on variety while maintaining an acute authenticity. Top selling items tend to be the beef barbacoa, grilled chicken, and the pork trompo, which is actually cooked and shaved on a vertical rotisserie. Of course we can't forget about he pork carnitas that are cooked in a traditional copper pot, brought in from Michoacan, Mexico, daily. Other menu items include a variety of sides, several unique sweets and snacks, and both nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

The restaurant's mission is simple: to provide their customers with great and authentic tasting Mexican tacos using only the freshest, most natural products available. This includes sourcing local, sustainable, and organic ingredients from the community itself when able.

In addition to the everyday great pricing, the eatery offers specials for most days of the week: Chips & Salsa Monday, Torta Tuesday, Tostada Wednesday, Tamal Thursday, and Burrito Sunday. Combos, such as the Keep It Simple Combo and the Lil' Charros Combo also round out ways that Rreal Tacos is looking out for their customers.

"Some of our most loyal guests come back and back again because they love the freshness and enjoy the quality of ingredients in their basket," Villarreal explains. "Other loyal guests keep coming back because it either reminds them of the food they ate in Mexico or California."

The restaurant is so authentic that they continue to receive a lot of visitors that are transplants from the East Coast. Catering is available for those who aim to take Villarreal home with them and they can be found as such eating events as Taste of Atlanta.
