Pure Entertainment Comes From A Love Of Music

By S. Mathur

When the DJs are professional musicians themselves, they understand how to reach your guests and make sure that they enjoy themselves. Klara Menaker, Owner of Pure Entertainment in Atlanta feels that this experience allows them to customize music at each event.

"Pure Entertainment is the result of a lifetime of love of music," she said. "We are a subsidiary of Atlantis Band which is led by my husband, Shane Holden, and the conduit for our meeting 27 years ago. To provide unlimited music choices and options for our clients we introduced DJing early on in our music entertainment endeavors, and so Pure Entertainment was born."

Pure Entertainment provides a range of services, including DJs and emcees, dancers, light shows, party games video screens and karaoke. There's also a live party recording studio and Las Vegas style LED dance floor.

Performers include caricaturists as well as live bands and vocalists like Boogie Oasis, Atlantis, and many others. The Pure Entertainment team includes five Djs/MCs, and more than 20 dancers and entertainers like stiltwalkers, comedians, magicians, novelty acts, and giveaways.

Behind all the fun lies much careful planning. Pure Entertainment has a music library that covers everything from 1950s favorites to contemporary hits. With over six million songs in the collection, there's something to suit every occasion, from Mitzvahs to weddings, and corporate and charitable events. They can even do live auctions, with DJ Sugar. serving as auctioneer.

The Pure Entertainment team also understand that different types of music are suitable at different times, so the volume can be turned down for dinner to allow guests to chat, and turned back up for the dancing.

"The atmosphere is unique to you," Menaker said. "Whether your event is corporate, sophisticated, playful, etc. Each celebration is treated as its own celebration. No two events are alike."

Whether it's a mitzvah, wedding or corporate event, the DJs understand that they're reaching a diverse crowd. For family events and weddings, it's everyone from grandparents to teenagers. Corporate events can be hyped up or toned down, to suit the company's image. For weddings, a two person team includes the DJ/MC as well as a Pure Entertainment Coordinator/Motivator who handles all logistical details. These include introductions, timeline management, and coordination with the caterer and all other vendors.

While client tastes and the feel of each event influence the choice of the music played, Menaker has her own preferences as well.

"My favorite music is classic soul and funk," she said. "I like it because it makes you want to jump up and dance. And every one is smiling and happy when they are dancing."
