Jennifer Reina Photography Celebrates and Captures New Life

By Pamela Sosnowski

Becoming a new mom launched Jennifer Reina's photography career. After six years of battling infertility, she wished to capture every detail of her new son's life, including his tiny fingers, with a camera. "When he was 6 months old I got my first DLSR and enjoyed learning how to use it on my favorite subject, my baby boy!" she recalls. "When he turned one year old, I photographed his cake smash session, and it was then that I had the desire to capture that special celebration for other families."

Reina says that she doesn't just take pictures; she celebrates new life. Jennifer Reina Photography of Newnan focuses on capturing newborns and preserving the memories of the first few weeks of a child's life so parents can always treasure them. Her sleepy new clients are usually posed in angelic positions, and photographed in soft swaddling fabrics and whimsical knitted hats.

"My style sets me apart from other photographers," she says. "Since I decided to specialize in my niche of newborn photography my clients know that I am trustworthy and can produce consistent work, but they hire me because they are drawn to my style. I use neutral colors and soft organic props. My photographs are clean and simple allowing the baby or new family to be the focus."

Although she didn't start her business until well into adulthood, Reina says she's always enjoyed taking pictures and remembers treasuring her first Polaroid camera as a kid. She used to photograph everything and everybody including families, couples, outdoor sessions, and events when first launching her studio, but quickly decided that celebrating new life is where her passion was.

"I truly believe every new life is a miracle that deserves to be celebrated and preserved in photographs and working out of my studio allows me to control every aspect of the session without Mother Nature wreaking havoc," she explains.

With Reina's photography services, parents not only receive the digital files of their cherished little one but products that allow them to display the images in their home within a few weeks of a session. These include framed photos, larger shots for hanging on the wall, photo collages, picture coasters, and more. All products are high quality and available a la carte when booking a session.

As Reina explains on her website, "the true value of this whole experience won't be recognized until about 3 years later when you are enjoying a lazy morning with your growing toddler snuggled up on your lap. You will close your eyes, take a deep breath, and actually be able to smell your tiny baby again."

Reina says she spends a total of 12 hours working on each client project, which includes giving each customer her guidance and undivided attention throughout the booking, pre consultation, design session, photo session, ordering session, and presentation of the final photos and products. To ensure this kind of attention for each parent, she limits the amount of photo shoots she schedules per week so provide a satisfying and high level of customer service.

The care and extra effort is worth it, resulting in happy early memories preserved for many years to come.
