Introducing Atlanta's Premier Upscale, Casual Restaurant Thrive

By Elisha Neubauer

Thrive blends an upscale eatery, lounge, and casual dining together to create an actual dining experience that is unlike any other. The modern flare of the building combines with a mixture of flavors from around the world to create an encounter that has been deemed award-winning by the community since its inception in 2007.

The eatery, which started off as a high end bistro in a new and improved Downtown building, drew in a unique clientele that embodied the renovated area from the moment it opened. Shortly after, the bistro transitioned, becoming Thrive, after famed designer Bill Johnson revamped the setting, adding his own contemporary spin to the location. From there, it was an easy process. "Our focus has been on straight forward food we all know, done right," states Jeff Safari, Owner of Thrive.

The unique building contains three separate areas to meet all patrons' needs: a bar, a lounge, and a dining room. All three areas are created with sleek décor, featuring clean lines, stark color choices, and modern decorations. The facility can also host private events, ranging from intimate dinners to reception events with up to two hundred attendees. In addition to private events, the eclectic eatery also offers Happy Hour Monday-Friday 5-7, with $5 apps and drink specials. "The best part is the built-in business," states Safari. "Every day is different."

Thrive is one of the Safari Hospitality brands, a 30 year old Atlanta based company pursuing a vision for the future by providing extraordinary experiences and leaving lasting impressions in the service industry. Safari Hospitality has become a major part of the local community. "We have made a lot of friends along the way," Safari details. "We have served on boards and donate constantly to a variety of non-profits in the Atlanta area." He continues, saying, "We have grown, but remain true to our roots as a family owned and operated business. Everyone here truly cares about the customer, period." And, as Safari pointed out, the customer is a member of the community!

So what is it that has been drawing fans to this Downtown hotspot? Safari tips us off to what he attributes the location's unbridled success. "Our chef, Justin Cox, is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets," he says, "Very talented young chef and a true student to his craft." He adds, "But our most identifiable feature would be diversity, both in our employees and our concepts and pursuits."

Thrive is a member of the ACVB and Central Atlanta Progress. They have been recognized by Jezebel, City Search & Zagat for their award-winning food and specialty drinks. Adding to their praise, the restaurant has been featured in the annual list of Top 100 Atlanta Restaurants by Jezebel Magazine and taken 1st place for Best Restaurant at the 2013 Atlanta Chef's Expo. Thrive was also listed in Dining Out Magazine's 50 Things We Love About Atlanta. Thrive has delicious and unique cocktails. In 2015, Thrive took 3rd place in the annual ACVB Battle of the Bottles contest.
