Please describe a little about your company and services offered?

We are a nationwide moving company which means that we perform local and long distance moves. We also perform deliveries, load and unload rental trucks, send labor to work in the home on an hourly rate, etc. We try to customize each moving experience to each customer, because no two situations are the same. We can pack the entire contents of your home , move it and unpack it and put it in place. On the other side, we can do something as small as pickup a piece of furniture you bought off craigslist and deliver it to your home.

How did you get into this line of work?

My husband got a job in college working for a moving company and he loved how no two days were the same. We thought we could add to the market by adding a trust worthy company. We then went on to start Ready to Move and haven't looked back since 9 years later!

Do you believe that moving services are necessary for average homeowner?

Yes I do! In American, we tend to over fill our calendars with things to do. So if you look at it from a purely time stand point alone it makes since. Our movers can perform a move in half the time of your average homeowner. This saves time and money! There are also tricks to moving pieces that only professionals know this could save a homeowner from hurting themselves or damaging a certain piece.

The term "white glove service" indicates a company that goes the extra mile for its customers. When referring to a moving company, this term implies a business that takes special care to address every need of their clients. Whether moving a family across town or helping an entire corporation transport confidential files and equipment; a full service moving company boasting white glove service handles it all.

A company offering this service requires special training of its employees to ensure they meet requirements and understand the attention to detail necessary for the job. The company often provides special touches such as door-to-door services, or removal of old appliances if they have been replaced. In addition, they assist by unpacking items from boxes and removing all cleaning or packing materials out of the home after the move is complete. These companies aim to relieve the client of the stress and worry that comes with the relocation process.

During a large move, the unpacking process can be the most time-consuming portion. These companies offer unpacking and assembling services: which can get an entire office ready for work first thing on Monday or help make a family's transition smoother for children. These movers will make arrangements, with the prior home or business occupants, to ensure that your items are expected and will be safe until you arrive.

There are many things that can be expected of these professional moving services, including the clean appearance of employees when they arrive at your home on the big day. The movers will also have gone through the highest training to provide the premier quality service and the expertise to handle even highly delicate items like antiques. Many of these companies will also assure you that if anything is broken in the process of packing or delivering, it will be replaced at no additional cost to you.

The company will want to have an in-home consultation and discussion of your needs to be certain they can provide you with the perfect experience. After this conversation and inspection, you should be given an estimate of charges, which can help you in your final decision.

Many of these companies also provide facilities where your items can be safely stored until your new home is ready. The goal of these businesses is to provide first-class professional service at competitive rates. If white glove service sounds like the right fit for your next move, be aware that there are few companies offering it - and those who do may be quite busy.

What sets your moving services apart from the competition in your area?

We are a unique team that drives this company and it is unparallel in the area. We also have our movers go through the American and Moving storage certification process. We try to make sure that the guys have some initial training before they step foot in a customer's house. Other companies learn on the job- which might mean your furniture is being handled without proper knowledge. We also follow through with our product, so if we do have a problem that arises we take care of it.

Can you give us an example of a strange or tough situation you have had to deal with while moving a customer in the past couple of years?

One story that comes to mind is about an overzealous customer that wanted to move into a home too quickly. They decided that they were going to move into their home before the closing was finalized and there were some complications with the closing. We had to move them back out- overnight as an emergency type situation. We then moved them back in about a week later!!!

Are there any limits to your delivery services? Will you transport anything?

We will deliver to anywhere in the United States. We can transport your vehicles, along with your possessions. We are limited to not being able to haul gas or propane. So if you want us to transport your grill, the propane tank will need to be removed. The same thing with your lawn mower- you will need to drain the gas out of it as well.

What specific qualities should a customer look for in a qualified and reliable moving company?

You want to check for the BBB logo and then actually check their rating. There are people that are using moving companies with an F rating and not realizing it! It makes an even bigger difference if the company isn't a member, because all they have to do is respond to the issue- so that just means they are completely negligent! Customers should make sure that the company is licensed by the GPSC if it is a local move and by the FMSCA if it is a long distance move. This is important- if you go with the cheapest company then they are most likely the most unqualified!

What are some common mistakes that homeowners make when hiring certain moving companies?

My biggest piece of advice is to not go with the cheapest company. They are the cheapest, because that is the only way they can compete ? this means they are probably the most inexperienced company and most likely they don't have insurance or their proper licensing. Another one is that the customers don't ask how long the company has been in business. We compete with some people that used to work for us, but they were never even a crew leader. They thought it looked easy and could do it themselves and unfortunately some customers had to find out the hard way.
