Innsbruck Golf Club: Tee Off in Georgia's Answer to the German Alps

By Elisha Neubauer

What could be better than teeing off with beautiful mountain views and German-inspired architecture surrounding you? How about staying and playing amongst this stunning scenery? At Innsbruck Golf Club, you can find accommodations in the charming IGLIS Resort Villas, play a round of golf, and explore the Alpine village of Helen, GA. If you're looking to enjoy the natural setting of the Georgia Mountains, Innsbruck Golf Club is just the place to start.

A short drive from Helen, Unicoi State Park, the Appalachian Trail, tubing on the Chattahoochee River, and other outdoor adventures, the Innsbruck Golf Club is the most talked about golf destination in North Georgia- and for good reason. "Our 9th hole was recently named in Arnold Palmer's Kingdom Magazine as one of the 18 most Divine Ninth holes in the world," says Mike McCall, Head PGA Golf Professional of Innsbruck Golf Club. The course has a layout designed by an imaginative architect, creating memorable moments at every hole.

The Club is a popular location for local events and tournaments as well. "We have numerous charitable tournaments throughout the year, which directly support our local community and the world at large with organizations such as The United Way, Rotary, Georgia Environmental Health Association, The Shriners, etcetera," explains McCall. "We also have many different events throughout the calendar year, such as the Rotary Winefest."

As a popular vacation and event setting, Innsbruck Golf Club has found many ways to accommodate the large volume of visitors they receive on an annual basis. "We provide them with a beautiful golf course to play, professional staff, food, and whatever else they require," McCall remarks. The grill serves lunch five days a week (Wednesday through Sunday) with a full bar, and IGLIS Resort Villas offers cabins with kitchens and wood burning fireplaces.

With spectacular views, vast amenities, membership discounts, and comfortable accommodations, it's no surprise that Innsbruck Golf Club has become one of the most popular golfing vacation spots on the East Coast. McCall tells us, "Our mission is to be North Georgia's most affordable golf- in priceless surroundings."
