Find Your Enthusiasm and Motivation at Tadda's Fitness

By S. Mathur

Motivation and lack of family support are the two commonest reasons why it's so difficult to maintain a fitness routine. Tadda's Fitness Center, a one stop shop, takes care of these and more.

Owner LaTasha E. Lewis says that "We have group fitness, personal training, the number one bootcamp in Atlanta, childcare, a cafe' where we make the most delicious whey protein shakes, a store where we have our own No Mess supplement line as well as apparel and the owner is a registered nurse that does vitamin B12 injections, cholesterol screening and blood type testing."

Personal training is a way to beat the motivation slump that occurs at the two- or three-week mark into any new fitness routine. Lewis says personal training is also "great for individuals that have an hectic schedule and need to come in at odd hours or for people who prefer to workout alone with their trainer." Regular classes at the gym include CardioKickboxing, Yoga, Zumba, Spin, Step, Ab Blaster, Worktime, Kids Fit and Kettlebell.

The 6-week bootcamp, billed as the best in Atlanta, "is one of a kind," she adds, where "The most weight someone has lost in just 6 weeks is 35.2 lbs the healthy way." The camp is open to people at all fitness levels, and consists of daily one hour sessions. The sessions start at 5 and 7a.m., and at 6p.m. Besides the thirty sessions, the bootcamp includes pre- and post-camp assessment, a nutritional meal plan, before and after pictures, and a much-prized T-shirt at completion.

Another unique feature of Tadda's Fitness is that it teaches people how to shop healthy. That's an essential first step to eating healthy, but as Lewis points out, "No one has ever taught you how to grocery shop so our tour is truly unique, we teach you how to read labels, how to make healthier choices and understand portion control to name a few." A special guided grocery shopping tour at Dekalb's Farmers Market with the Tadda's Fitness team shows participants how to make better food choices, along with practical tips on healthy on-the-go snacks, meal planning and more.

Enthusiasm and motivation are the key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and that's exactly what members find at Tadda's Fitness. Lewis says that "The Secret to losing weight and staying in shape is to first change your mindset. Understand that you must change your lifestyle. It's obvious your lifestyle has either gotten you overweight or unhealthy."

Tadda's Run Club is an opportunity to continue the healthy living habits acquired in the bootcamp. It too is open to runners and walkers at all levels, from casual to competitive. As well as special events, weekly runs foster a community of fitness and fun. The Run Club also fundraises for charities like Habitat for Humanity and breast cancer research.
