Chic Evolution In Art Introduces People To The World Of Art

By S. Mathur

Ivan Pitoni's life has brought him on a long journey from the streets of Brazil where he grew up, through the world of a professional volleyball player, to design and art. In the course of 15 years, his gallery, Chic Evolution in Art, has become a major presence in design, art, and fundraising circles in Atlanta.

"I moved from Brazil over 20 years ago, worked in Design, and fell in love with connecting and educating my friends and clients to Art," Pitoni said. "The success from an impromptu Art Sale at my apartment convinced me this was my passion and life's work."

The gallery is now located in Alpharetta, GA and supports local and international artists. Selections include avant-garde home furnishings, modern paintings, casted glass and other sculptures, crafts, and collectibles. Works on display range from from 3-dimensional acrylic mirrored boxes to precious stone torsos.

"We love so many of our artists!" Pitoni said. "Some artists are already well established, were others are up-and-comers with tons of talent. We give direction to the artists to help them hone their skills to the design needs of our community."

The mission of the gallery is to introduce people to art, and Pitoni sees his role first of all as an educator. Selections include avant-garde home furnishings, modern paintings, casted glass and other sculptures, crafts, and collectibles. Works on display range from from 3-dimensional acrylic mirrored boxes to precious stone torsos.

"We love to meet new people and introduce them to the world of art," he said. "The atmosphere is high-end without being snooty. Grab a coffee, walk in, enjoy viewing our new collections and ask us anything you'd like." The gallery seeks to redefine the art gallery experience and has something for everyone, from seasoned collectors to people who are new to the art world.

Artists also offer custom commissioned pieces and the gallery works with Atlanta's premier interior designer to help clients find the perfect piece for homes, offices or other spaces. In terms of current trends, Pitoni feels that dimension and texture seem to be a huge driving force for buyers. Clients are not limited to choosing from the pieces on display. They can specify their tastes, what they're looking for, their budget and be sure that they'll get the best art experience.

The gallery prides itself on having a family feeling and supporting the local art community. Pitoni is committed to fundraising and giving back, and has helped to start and fund a school for impoverished children in Brazil. Chic Evolution in Art has also raised funds for the Humane Society and many children's charities.
